Travel Equipment
Type 'Travel Equipment' into the Google search engine and it returns 75,000,000 results. For once, this may be an accurate representation of the options that are out there to choose from.
Even if you would rather not surf the net and prefer to visit your local outdoor equipment shop, you will run into not just overwhelming choice, but also aggressive selling techniques matched only in the street markets of South East Asia. Add to this, shelf upon shelf of equipment you have never come across, don’t understand the purpose of and yet somehow (often due to the aggressively advertised 'Must Have Travel Aid') you feel you should buy. It is very easy to find yourself walking out, having spent £300-£500 and with a huge dent your travel budget.
It is not until you get back home after your trip and tip your over-priced backpack out onto the floor, that you realise much of what you bought was never taken out of its original packaging. You then start to resent all the times on your trip when you were cursing the weight of you pack, as a burden that stopped you making the most of all the opportunities available to you.
During our Gap Year and Independent Travel Safety and Awareness workshop (GYITSA) we examine what equipment best suits the needs of your specific trip where money is well spent, where quality really matters and where substantial savings can be made. We have regularly saved those attending our workshops several hundreds of pounds and immeasurable effort of lugging pointless equipment half way round the world and back again.
We examine what equipment to take, what is best left behind and how best to pack your final choice of travel pack. We include the basics such as clothing choices when we consider the needs of your trip and dispel the myths of those items that might be really excessive, such as GPS systems. By the time you leave, you’ll be confident that your pack contains everything you’ll reasonably need, but also that it will be light enough for you to carry round the world.
Anyone attending our workshop will recieve 10% off all Travel Equipment from Nomad Travel & Outdoor.
We believe in a transparent open approach and in and in providing access to useful information through our Gap Year and Independent Travel Safety & Awareness workshop (GYITSA).
A short introduction toto each of the subjects we cover during our workshop is published to allow anyone planning to travel to gain an insight into the considerations they will need to make, these include:
