Personal Safety Training (PS)
Personal Safety is a concern to many travellers and in particular to those volunteering, working or partaking in activities that carry additional risk of violence and aggression being present.
Our personal safety course is a summary of Conflict Management & Resolution and Physical Intervention (see www.btbl.co.uk) courses and takes in key skills from both. This gives candidates an overall view of how they can manage and resolve conflict as well as providing them with specific low-impact personal safety techniques.
We carry out a training needs analysis to allow us to tailor our courses to meet the candidate’s needs. The course is delivered by instructors that have an understanding of the risk and threats that you may face on your travels.
Personal Safety is not a subject to be brushed under the carpet and forgotten about. Often individuals, employers and organisations only consider these subjects when something goes wrong. This lack of foresight can ruin your travels and cut them short, we can help reduce the risk through effective training.
We are aware that statistics can be made to look more frightening then they really are but even the most sceptical individuals can not ignore the fact that there is a very real threat of becoming a victim of crime while travelling.
Our personal safety course provides candidates with the skills required to deal with many situations more confidently before they become a statistic. This confidence can go some way to helping you even if you do become the unfortunate victim of a crime, to regain confidence more quickly and not let the setback affect wholesale changes to your travels.
We have an array of personal safety techniques that can be used to build a course around your needs. We believe that the reward in all our courses has to be the learning outcome of those attending and the confidence that those attending feel they gain from our training.
We have made a sample Personal Safety Course - Learning Programme available to demonstrate how we put our courses together for each individual client. This learning programme was designed for a corporate client and reflects the nature of the personal safety course and the learning outcomes we achieved.
